Nilaja Sun is most known for her Obie award-winning solo piece No Child… which had its Off-Broadway run at the Barrow Street Theatre. For her creation and performance of No Child…, Sun garnered 21 awards including: Lucille Lortel Award, two Outer Critics Circle Awards, Theatre World Award, Helen Hayes Award, and the soloNOVA Award for Artist of the Year. TV and film credits: “30 Rock,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Unforgettable,” “Louie,” “Rubicon,” The International,Nature Calls, and Hairbrained. Sun was recently awarded a NYSCHA grant, through Epic Theatre Ensemble, to create her newest solo piece, Pike St.
